PERUVIAN PURSUITS - Part 1
Ok, so its been 3 weeks since our last update, but we've been busy!
Right now we're in Puno, on Lake Titicaca. It's our last night in Peru and it's very, very cold. Tomorrow we visit the floating islands before taking the bus across the border to Copacabana, Bolivia. We don't have time to update all 3 action-packed weeks of Peru tonight, so here's the first installment...
Lima: 3 days basically lounging about, playing pool, going to the cinema, wandering around the old city centre and meeting our future travelling buddy for most of our time in Peru, John 'take it out of petty cash' Heath.
Huacachina: About 5 hours south of Lima, a tiny oasis town in the middle of the desert. Essentially it was all about dune buggies and sandboarding - we loved it so much, we did it twice. It was great fun, the pics say it all...
Nasca: Another 3 hours further south, Nasca is all about the mysterious, gigantic lines drawn in the sand which can only be seen properly from the air. So, we jumped in a 5 seater plane to see them for ourselves. After the 40 minute flight, we headed out of town to see an ancient Nasca open cemetery, complete with skulls and bones... most of the re-arranged remains reminded us of the Rolling Stones!
