TULUM OR NOT TULUM
We were always planning to head up the Caribbean coast of Mexico and Tulum had been recommended to us by lots of people. The beaches and the ruins are incredible - the photos speak for themselves - but the town itself was a bit characterless and didn't really feel very Mexican. But we stayed in a cool cabana (thatched hut) and spent some good time with Greta and Francesca, the Kiwi sisters we had met in Caye Caulker. Lots of walking and some cycling, as well as plenty of lovely Mexican food.
